Any child in 1st through 12th grade can register.
There are no geographical restrictions but please note that all games will be at Myers Pavillion or FSK Elementary/Middle, both in South Baltimore.
Click here to register. When you register, you will be placed on a waitlist. We are doing this to improve administration and maximize the number of players who can play this winter. When the registration window closes, the league will optimize divisional age groupings and teams. At that point, registrants will be moved from the waitlist to the appropriate division. You will then receive an email with a payment invoice. You must pay within 48 hours to reserve your spot in the league.
In the event that we have more registrants than openings for a division, we will hold a lottery to determine which players are offered a spot. Having siblings in the league does not guarantee a spot.
Yes! We're hoping to expand our girls-only options once again this year. Our goal is to have 3 girls-only divisions: 1st/2nd grade futsal, 3rd-5th grade indoor, and 6th-8th grade indoor.
No, sorry. Our winter session has always had more demand than space available, so we need to preserve room to get as many kids in the league as possible.
This is our biggest challenge every year. We do our best to balance appropriate team sizes, optimum player development and enjoyment, and competitive play, based on the number of players registered in each grade level. Often, we group in two-year increments (e.g., 4th and 5th graders).
While we will not have a final answer on this question until we’ve seen the registration numbers for the session, our tentative groupings are:
$145 for futsal
$195 for indoor at Myers
A special $50 discount is available to any player who is able to re-use their pink and gray jerseys from the fall 2025 outdoor season!
Your fees pay for uniforms, team and league equipment, referees, field rentals, insurance, and administrative costs. All coaches and SYBSL Board members are unpaid volunteers.
Thanks to our generous donors, YES! Just email sbysl.treasurer[at]gmail.com with your request, including how much you are willing to pay. We ask that you pay a minimum $25 per player if at all possible. You must send the email requesting financial assistance as soon as you register.
We will be ordering jerseys from Rebel Sports, as we did for the Fall 2025 session. Here is their size chart:
Games will begin on Saturday, December 6.
** We will play games on both MLK weekend and President's Day weekend. **
Games will end on Sunday, March 1st.
For Myers Indoor, the first game of the day on Saturday will begin at 8:00a and the final game will end by 8:00p. For Myers Indoor, we also have the field 8:00-10:00a on Sundays, and every team will play at least one Sunday game. For FSK Futsal, we do not have our timeline available yet, but all games will be on Saturdays.
Exact game times are TBD, based on registration numbers and how we optimize divisional age groupings and team numbers. The schedule should be finalized by the end of November. Yes, we are coordinating schedules with the South Baltimore Basketball League to avoid or minimize conflicts.
There is no practice for our winter session -- field space is too hard to come by.
Futsal will be played in the gym at Francis Scott Key Elementary/Middle, 1425 East Fort Ave., Baltimore, MD 21230.
Indoor will be played at William J. Myers Pavillion, 4300 West Bay Ave., Baltimore, MD 21225.
For all intents and purposes, it's just indoor soccer on a basketball court. There are minor rule differences, including out-of-bounds and kick-ins. And the ball is slightly smaller and heavier so that it stays low. It is a GREAT game for improving dribbling and passing skills.
We are unable to accommodate teammate/coach requests, except in extraordinary circumstances.
We are aiming to complete team formation before Thanksgiving.
League-wide communications generally come by email. Be sure to whitelist info@stonealley.com, because that's the address used by our email system.
Coaches will communicate through the GameChanger app. Please download the app from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store. It's free!
Be sure to register on GameChanger with the same email address you use to register your child – it's the only way we know how to contact you!
No sweat. Many players have other commitments, get sick, or just can't make a game. Please let your coach know as soon as possible so they can arrange for a “pool player” to fill in if necessary.
We are a 100% volunteer-run organization and grateful for our many volunteers. We need coaches, referees, field marshals, help with setup and cleanup, help with lining fields, help with fundraising, and more.

First and foremost, coaches must understand SBYSL’s vision, which is, to put it simply, create a positive environment for kids to enjoy time with their friends and develop soccer skills.
Coaches should also be committed to being present for all (or nearly all) practices and games.
All SBYSL coaches are highly encouraged to to take the US Soccer Federation’s Introduction to Grassroots Coaching course (free, 20 minutes) and the appropriate online Grassroots Coaching training course for their age group (i.e., 4v4, 7v7, 9v9, or 11v11) ($26, 2 hours). The courses provide a lot of great information and tools. SBYSL will reimburse the cost of the online course. Simply email the league Treasurer to get your reimbursement.
All coaches MUST complete a background check and safety training courses. Information is available on our website.
We are proud of our homegrown referee program, which creates a pathway for kids as young as sixth grade to gain experience officiating a game. Kids who refereed in previous seasons and have performed at a high level will be offered the opportunity to referee indoor games. Indoor is a faster paced and more intense environment, so we do not use new or inexperienced referees for the winter session.
